Si-Email
The RFQ lands on the job, not in a pile.
Email and attachments arrive attached to the work they belong to — the print, the revision, the quote, the PO and the chase, all on one record.
Your inbox stops being the place you run the shop from.
The pain
The information exists. Finding it is the job.
Nothing is lost, exactly. It is just in an inbox, in a folder, on a desk and in somebody’s head.
“Which rev did they send?”
Three emails, two zip files and a drawing someone re-saved with a different name.
“Did anyone answer this?”
A quote went out Tuesday. Nobody knows whether it was followed up, and nobody owns it.
“Where is the PO?”
It came to one person. That person is at a vendor today.
How it works
Forward it once. It files itself.
It arrives
Forward the RFQ, or let it come straight to the address your customers already use.
It is read
Material, quantity, revision, tolerances and finish come off the print and the body of the message.
It attaches
Everything lands on the job record — and stays there through the quote, the floor and the invoice.
The difference
A quote tool stops at the quote. The email keeps going.
Quoting tools put the message on a quote. A CRM puts it on a deal. A shared inbox puts it on a ticket somebody owns. All three hand off and the thread stops there.
Here the message is on the job — the same record the floor clocks against and the invoice posts from. Six months later, when the customer asks why rev C cost more than rev B, the answer is one click from the job, not a search through two systems and an archive.
The honest part
Outlook is not broken. It is just not a shop.
Email works. That is the problem — it works well enough that the shop ends up running on it.
You keep your mail client and your address. Nothing about how you write or send changes. What changes is that the message stops being the only copy, and stops living in one person’s account.
Straight answers
Questions people ask about Si-Email.
What does it mean for email to land on a job?
Every message, attachment and revision is stored against the job record rather than in a mailbox. The job carries its own correspondence, so anyone with access to the job has the history without being forwarded anything.
Do we have to change email providers?
No. Outlook and Gmail both stay exactly as they are. Mail is read and filed; it is not replaced or re-hosted.
What does it read off a print?
Material, finish, quantity and quantity breaks, revision, and the tolerances and notes that affect how the part has to be made. Every figure it pulls carries the document and the location it came from, so an estimator can check it rather than trust it.
What happens with a hand-marked or scanned drawing?
A clean exported PDF or a native CAD file reads best. A scan or a photographed print still files correctly against the job, and the fields it cannot read with confidence are left blank for a person rather than guessed.
Does it chase quotes we have sent?
Yes. An unanswered quote stays on the job as an open item with its age, so follow-up is a list rather than a memory.
Who can see a customer’s email?
Anyone you give access to that job. The point is that it stops depending on which person happened to receive it.
